Theo Schlossnagle on Monitoring at Velocity 2013

OmniTI's founder and CEO, Theo Schlossnagle will be presenting again this year at O'Reilly's Velocity, Web Performance and Operations Conference. In his tutorial session, "Monitoring and Observability", he will leave the need for performance as a foregone conclusion and take a whirlwind tour through the complexity of modern Internet architectures. Starting with the simple facts that you can’t fix what you can’t see, and you can’t improve what you can’t measure, he’ll discuss what needs monitoring and why. He hopes attendees will leave the session with a better understanding of what it looks like to troubleshoot the storm of a malfunctioning large architecture, and with some tools and techniques they can use so as to not be swallowed by the Kraken.

Velocity focuses on the core aspects of building a faster and stronger web. The conference takes place June 18-20, in Santa Clara, CA.
