This November, OmniTI once again showcased its expertise across a wide spectrum of technologies speaking at several different industry conferences located across the country and across the globe.
Keith Fiske, a member of OmniTI's Database Operations team and contributor to multiple PostgreSQL related tools, kicked off the month with his presentation at Central PA Open Source Conference, covering modern PostgreSQL features and some of the benefits of PostgreSQL over other databases for developers and DBAs alike.
Leon Fayer traveled to the west coast to present at DevOps Summit (part of SYS-CON Cloud Expo). He talked about the importance of monitoring in a DevOps culture, and demonstrated real-world examples on the need to correlate business, development and operational metrics.
Leon also gave a talk at the PHP World conference, speaking about common application performance pitfalls when scaling applications with databases. This talk stems from years of working with companies to help them improve performance and scalability, and focused on several anti-patterns that OmniTI has encountered in the wild.
Wrapping up the month, Robert Treat traveled to Barcelona, Spain to speak at Velocity Europe. His talk covered a new angle on the DevOps philosophy, discussing several aspects of product design and how they apply to operations practitioners.
Applying our years of technology experience to todays hot topics on development, databases, devops and performance, OmniTI wraps up yet another great year of industry thought leadership. Follow us on Twitter or sign-up for our newsletter for updates on the latest talks and rants in 2015!
