Sergey Ivanov joined OmniTI in December 2005. He has worked with distributed and web-based applications since 1997. Prior to joining OmniTI, Sergey worked for an Israel-based software development company, with responsibilities including configuration management and distributed development environment set-up and support. Sergey is skilled in shell scripting, rpm packaging, and in network and systems administration.
Sergey is involved in the Alt Linux project maintaining the Dovecot packaging, and has a deep knowledge of many mail server platforms.
From behind his Dvorak keyboard, he applies his extensive experience in systems administration to keep OmniTI clients free from operational worries.
I'd like to share my favorite saying about the system administrator life:
... you should see my killer server I've set up at home. Once I've finished tweaking it, I'm going to set up the same thing at work. Very few occupations are like that. Brain surgeons don't come home excited about trying a new technique on their cat, hoping that it works so they can try it on patients.
