Dave joined OmniTI in early June 2008 as a web developer. He has over a decade of experience in technology, including desktop support, large-scale datacenter administration, and hardware and software systems integration and development.
Prior to OmniTI, he worked as a Google Engineer integrating the Google Search Appliance into customer's networks. He also worked in various capacities for a mutual fund company, managing small and medium-sized projects in multiple hardware and software disciplines.
Fully embodying the concept of "jack of many trades, but master of none," Dave has experience in a variety of languages and utilities that he hopes to expand and build on.
I believe that anyone can learn syntax from a book, but not everyone can learn how to program from a book. Therefore, it's more important to be able to conceptualize how to get something done, THEN you choose the method to implement that solution.
Upon my hire, I assumed the role of resident bad joke teller. There is no joke I can't murder. This is especially true on Friday's for some reason. Feel free to stop by for a demonstration.
I like competition of any kind. Doesn't matter if I win or lose, I just like to compete. Winning is preferable though.
I carry a 215 average in my bowling league that I'm rather proud of.
I'm also a semi-professional pinball player, having won 7 league titles over the past few years. Yes, there is such a thing as a pinball league. I'm even in the world rankings.
When not at either league, I'm usually either breaking my computer at home with some ill-advised upgrade or spending time with my wonderful girlfriend who puts up with me far more than she should have to.
